“Do, or do not. There is no try.” – Yoda
Meet According2mel. So, here it goes. My first post. This is the beginning of what I hope to be an exciting, life changing journey. Inspired by a new friend on a Facebook blog group, I have decided to interview myself so the world can get to know me. I hope you enjoy my site and come back for my weekly posts. Feel free to leave comments and please include your blog site or email so I can meet you too.
Can you tell your readers about yourself and your blog?
I am Southern California born and bred. Had a basic childhood and great parents. I have 2 sisters and a brother. I have always enjoyed learning, reading and making friends.
I am married to a terrific husband and we have a 6 year old son who keeps us busy but we wouldn’t change it for the world. I work as a pharmacy technician for a retail chain. If I ever talk about work in my posts you can be sure I will never mention the company name (just in case).
I have been contemplating blogging for a few years now. I tried one last year but I never got it off the ground. Life was too busy and my thoughts were not organized very well. I have since researched more about blogging and have made time to sit down and prepare my plans and thoughts so I can be a successful blogger.
My blog is simply about me. My life, my thoughts and feelings about anything and everything. Overtime I plan to share craft ideas, recipes, thoughts on current events, relationships in life and even explore my inner thoughts along the way.
Describe how you first got into blogging.
I owe this blog bug to my sister Nessa Myers. You can find her at 2Dorksinlove.com. She has been such a great help in getting me started and reassuring me I can do this.
How would you describe your blogging style?
Talking to a friend. Simple and real. Blunt and honest but real. Informative but casual.
Where do you see your blog a year from now?
I hope to gain a few followers by then. Maybe 500? Seems like a long shot now, but I have hope. My wish is that my voice becomes a resource for others to gain insight into themselves and others. To come to my site to learn and grow.
What do you do in your spare time?
As a full time working mom you can be sure my spare time is almost nonexistent. What time I do have is spent playing with my son, painting, crocheting, reading, scrap booking, making jewelry and things to sell on Etsy (eventually) and most recently blog planning.
What inspired you to blog?
As a Leo, you can be sure I have an opinion about everything. I see and hear what is going on in the world and believe that my practical, down to earth approach to life can be a light in the dark to making this world a better place. I have always wanted to be an agent of change but feel so small. This blog is my effort to reach out and “Be the change I want to see” -Mahatma Gandhi.
How often do you communicate with your readers?
Once a week. More if I can manage or feel inspired to get something out.
Would you encourage other people to blog?
Yes! We all need to come together and share ideas to get through this life.
Is blogging your profession or hobby?
A hobby for now. Who knows what the future holds for me. I would love to be able to make a living being me.
What has been your biggest challenge so far?
Honestly? Getting this first post published. I have been nervous about where to start and what to write about. It has been a few weeks and nothing has inspired me until I joined a face book group of bloggers for support. Shout out to Cali Julz for the idea of doing a meet and greet of me. I took it as marching orders and here is the fruits of my labor.
What are your personal goals in life?
I am always working to improve at my job and gain knowledge as much as possible. I would like to have more children but we’ll see how that plays out over the years. I hope to be a role model for my son and others around me. I have always had a dream to become president. Those who know me personally have already commited their vote. Only a few more million to go.
Well, there you have it folks. Me in a nut shell. I look forward to sharing more of me with all of you very soon. Check back next week, would you? I could use all the support and advice you can give so please comment below. I have accounts on Facebook, Instagram and Twitter if you’d like to follow me there as well.
